Coconut oil has long been used as a moisturizer for skin. It can be applied to your entire body as well as your face. It removes dead skin cells, creating smooth, youthful, glowing skin. This all-in-one beauty product can replace your body lotion and facial moisturizer and can be used on all skin types. It is especially good for dry skin and mature skin.

Use Coconut Oil in Your Hair
Coconut oil is a wonderful deep conditioner. Great for all hair types, it will soften and give glorious shine to your locks. It preserves the natural proteins in damaged hair and can even provide relief from dandruff.
To condition with coconut oil, apply to dry hair working from roots to ends. Leave on for about 30 minutes before shampooing, or as long as you can for even better results. Consider applying before bedtime and leave it on overnight. Cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel and lay a towel across your pillow for added protection. This can be done up to three times a week. If you don’t get the results you want after one application, you may need to do it more often for optimal results.
The first time I conditioned with coconut oil I worried it would be drippy and messy. On the contrary, it wasn’t at all. I just worked it in, put my hair up and went about my business until I was ready to wash it out.
Tame frizzy fly-aways by applying a small amount to your ends. You don’t need much. A little goes a long way.
Tips on Choosing Coconut Oil
Make sure to buy only virgin or extra-virgin, cold-pressed and organic, if possible. Never buy coconut oil that has been hydrogenated, bleached, refined or deodorized, as these processes are hard on the liver. There really is no difference between virgin and extra-virgin, as their is with olive oil, so don’t spin your wheels trying to determine which is better.
Coconut oil comes in a container similar to that of peanut butter. When stored below 76 degrees fahrenheit it will be a thick white consistency which softens and melts with ease when rubbed between your fingers. At 76 degrees and above it will liquify.
Good for your insides as well as your outsides!
Coconut oil is truly a marvel of nature. Consume it, moisturize your skin with it and condition your hair for softness and beautiful shine.
